TEXTILES
Even though Stampin' Up! retired their fabric-line...Don't put your sewing machine away...Just run to your local fabric storeand buy a fat quarter or twoof something pretty to match our beautiful cardstock. There are so many creative possibilities!. . . . . . . . . .Don't you think this adorable PURSE CARD is about the cutest thing you've seen in a long time! My inspiration came from all those quilted purses made from the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. Even though this is more simple and not die-cut, it has the look!
HERE'S HOW:
This is a standard card size 5-1/2" x 4-1/4". I used Textured Card Stock for the purse and 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon for the handle. The Punch sizes and Designer Brad name is on the supply list.
To make the stitches, draw "thread" lines with the 0.5mm end of a Stampin' Write Marker, in a 1" grid. After drawing the thread, put a tiny dot at the end of every stitch. The dot looks like the hole a needle would make and is a very important step. Then, score right on top of the stitch lines and it will look like a stitch-in-the-ditch! (Even though I'm only a hobby quilter, I've heard real quilters use that term, and think it sounds cool.)
To make the top fabric flap... I started to load all the step-by-step photos, but there are 14 of them. So just email me and I'll send you a two page, full color, PDF file. It includes a list of supplies too... Besides, I love hearing from you!
June Allen let me take a picture of her purse that she made with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Scallop Square Die...
I will be using textiles on cards and 3-D projects occasionally.
