TWO FROM ONE...

Quite by accident, I discovered what many designers have likely already learned, that you can make two cards with one cut on your BIG SHOT DIE-CUTTING MACHINE...

 

WOWSER! Think of the possibilities!!

HERE'S HOW:  After rubbing the cutting side of my Flourish Thinlit with a dryer sheet, I placed it on a 3" x 5" piece of Whisper White Cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. (The dryer sheet makes the Thinlit and the cardstock separate perfectly.) Wahlah! I had two pretty Flourishes! One was the positive (card #1) and the other the negative (card #2). Just think of the possibilities! Next time I'll try it with patterned paper. And of course any Thinlit will work the same way. It's a beautiful thing!!

BEST DAY EVER...

Any day that I design cards in my stamping room is a good day. Today was one of the best ever, using lots of new stamps, papers, inks, and accessories from our 2016-2017 FIND YOUR INSPIRATION ANNUAL CATALOG...

I stamped both images at one time. HERE'S HOW...

Cut the 3" x 4" pieces out of 12"x 12" Designer Series Paper Stack, 4" across and 3" down. You will get 12 pieces with no waste...

The trim pieces were punched with a 3/4" circle, then cut in half. I punched matching dots for the Candy Dot Brad Bases from cardstock using the dots on the Cupcake Builder Punch...

...then positioned the brads so they were lined up inside...

Every stamp in this set is a keeper and will be used lots!!

In case you've been looking for an easy-to-make handmade card for FATHER'S DAY, here is a fun idea...

Even though most dads don't wear neckties much any more, ties are a universal design recognized for all the men and boys that we love, and can be used for lots of different occasions...

Cut a simple necktie out of plain or pretty paper, and you'll have a handmade card in a jiffy...

I made this card a couple of years ago. It has been re-pinned on Pinterest over and over again...

MY STAMPERS...

It has been a joy to watch as the newest stampers around my workshop tables have blossomed and bloomed into creative designers. I find myself making more cards without greetings because they like to pick and choose their own. This card for example could become a THANK YOU card, or a BIRTHDAY card, or a GET WELL card, or ???  I wonder what greetings will be chosen for this pretty card - and I wonder how they will slightly rearrange the flowers to insert their unique messages. Perhaps they will stamp the greeting inside... Whatever they do it will be fun to watch!
