BRANCH WREATH...

My dear friend Carrie was hospitalized while recuperating from surgery. I went to visit and wanted to take something special but small because the room had limited space. She dearly loved this little wreath, and the verse on the mini card was perfect for her circumstance. You've got courage, you've got strength...

 

 

DESIGN NOTES: I purchased the 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" branch wreath at a local craft store for less than $2. After the bird, flowers, and leaves were punched, I sponged the bird to add interest. I tried a few different ribbons and the narrow taffeta fit best. The mini card (3-3/4" x 5" folded in half) made with Crumb Cake cardstock, matched the earthy motif. I used the Modern Label punch across the bottom of the card. The Multipurpose Liquid Glue easily adhered the paper pieces to the wreath.

DESIGN NOTES:  Since the new Spiral Border Punch creates more of an office and industrial look, I was inspired to use that style as a design-base for this card. The Mini Silver Brads fit right in, and I used my handy (lady-size) wire cutters to shorten them a little so they could be opened all the way behind the tiny flower. One of the Hardware Clips Essentials is shaped like a paper clip so it was a perfect embellishment choice, and I topped the whole thing off with a couple of staples! Everything on this card is available in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.

DESIGN NOTES:  Did you even notice that I fussy-cut the bottom row of flags just for something a little different?  And to duplicate the tiny squares and circles on the flags, I repeated those at the top. There isn't anything too unique about this card, but that's okay.  Everything used to make this card will be available in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.

DESIGN NOTES: I didn't have any Jumbo Sticky Rounds, so I made my own by punching a circle from cardstock with the 1" Circle Punch and covered it with Sticky Strip.  I trimmed the excess from around the circle edge, then began spinning the "rope" around the circle. It was easy peasy because the Thick Baker's Twine is such a nice quality. Tiny bits of a Glue Dot held the remainder of the rope in place across the card front. I decided to use the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder at the last minute, and glad I did.  All products used on this card will be available in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.

DESIGN NOTES:  Don't you think the "hello" would look better if stamped with Basic Gray rather than Basic Black? ...I tried three colors of Candy Dots, but the gray looked best. ...The new Hello Honey In-Color is bright and cheerful.
