DETOUR AND OOPS...

The making of this card included a

DETOUR and an OOPS or two along the way...

Here's where the DETOUR came in... I started with the more modern version below, but decided it needed a vintage twist!  So I started over and ended up with the card above. Much better, huh!

PP oops

Here's where the OOPS came in... When using more than one Designer Series Paper pattern, I always try to use paper out of the same package (for simplicity and CASEing). But after making the final card, I realized the DSP was out of two different collections and I didn't want to start over again!

And to make matters more complicated... I used two different stamp sets... (I should have just used the "thank you" in this set!)

Well!  It's only Monday.

I'm confident things will get better as the week goes on!

I really like your card - the shading on the edges of those squares really makes a big difference and makes the card "pop". I also like the way you added dimension to the punched sentiment with the added layer. I must try that on cards that I am making that needed that extra something. Thanks for the inspiration.

Mondays can be like that...filled with detours and oopses. Sometimes it's a reflection of the weekend doings...and sometimes its the Monday gremlins. Either way...the destination you arrived at is wonderful. Funny how the swapping of order of the color blocks changes the flowers appearance. One looks as if the flower is receding and the other as if the flower is popping up off the page. One more retro and the other thoroughly modern. I like them both myself.
May all your detours be as productive...and all your oopses as minor. Oh...and may you never find your detours leading you into the middle of a Chinese New Year's Parade as my last one did when I was supposed to be on my way to a Stamp Camp! Gotta love historic towns and the Oregon Highway guys who place the signs.

I take a lot of detours in my stamping and scrapbooking! Love your "destination". So soft and pretty.
