While in the process of sprucing up my stamp room (with help from hubby and grandson who are doing the heavy lifting and hammering and power tooling and all that guy stuff), I'll show you a few masculine cards in their honor...  (Read comment below to see where these fabulous cards originated!)

While attending a Stampin' Up! event recently (our annual Convention), I found a (lost) bag of 32 cards.  I brought them home, and on July 21st, posted a LOST AND FOUND note on a Stampin' Up! chat room board.  No one has claimed them, so I decided to share a few with you today.  If you know of someone who lost a bag of cards, put her in touch with me so I can mail them to her.  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these more masculine cards as you think of the guys in your life who help with projects around the house - or not!

GRANDMA'S DOILY...

When I saw the Hello, Doily Stamp for the very first time, it reminded me of my Grandma's doily!  I ran to my cedar chest and found her doily, which was carefully pressed between layers of tissue.  

 
The name of the pattern of my Grandma's doily is Vintage Crochet Irish Rose.  The name of the pattern of the Stampin' Up! doily is Pineapple... If you'd like to see dozens and dozens of variations of Pineapple Doilies, Google Pineapple Doily Crochet Patterns, then click on Images.

The doily above was made by sprinkling White Embossing Powder over the moist, stamped doily image, covering completely.  I then tapped off the excess powder and used the Heat Tool until the powder melted. 

My memories and enthusiasm were spilling over, so continued by making a simple companion card... 

 
 

It made me so happy to remember my Grandma and her doily...

 

 

When I Googled doilies, Grandma's doily was there!!  It just had to be hers!  She made four matching doilies over 70 years ago, and two have been missing most of that time.  Imagine my shock to see it on the World Wide Web!  There were several others, but the one pictured below on the left is identical and must be hers!
