Ahhhh... After the Stampin' Up! Convention, It was nice to get away for a few days... 

 

Now I'm back to reality and I'm very happy that reality for me includes crafting and card-making!  I'm looking forward to showing you some cards from new friends at Convention!

I just returned from the annual Stampin' Up! Convention held in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to OODLES of new ideas, I brought back several hundred swap cards made by demonstrators from all across the country.  (I can't wait to show some of them to you!)  To get the party started, here's just one I made for a swap called ANY HOLIDAY EXCEPT CHRISTMAS...

Through the years, I've received a higher percentage of comments on simple cards than on any others.  Here's one I think you'll like...

Try this double-layer technique...

 

It doesn't require any watercoloring.  Just stamp directly onto a Designer Series Paper that fits your motif, then stamp the image again on plain card stock.  Cut and paste over the top of the first layer, and use a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals for impact.  Notice how I curled up the tips of the two new blooms.

MORE THAN FIREWORKS...

 
Some of our family members (about 40 of us) are shooting off FIREWORKS this evening at dusk.  Then tomorrow we're having a BBQ PICNIC at the church with more family and lots of friends, followed by SOFTBALL and more FIREWORKS!  I love this holiday - and so thankful to be an American!
