LITTLE BLACK DRESS...

As of today, I have a whole list of special events on my calendar between September 1st and December 31st.  However, only a few of them require that I wear something as fancy as a little black dress...

 

You may have seen a variation of this dress in a hundred colors and prints on the World Wide Web.  (IT'S OFFICIAL... Minutes ago, I found out that Joan Cristo was the originator of the first ever dress made with the Scallop Circle Bigz Die!  Thanks, Joan!  And thanks to Patty Bennett for helping me find her!)

COUNTDOWN TO FALL...

Thanks to all of you who sent such nice notes and well wishes for my husband's speedy recovery after receiving a brand new knee.  He is doing great - and I'm back on a regular routine... (Whew!)

PERSONAL NOTE:  Another reason I chose this card is that today is my husband's birthday.  Our family is going out to dinner to celebrate.  Our oldest grandson, Kenny, who just arrived home from his stateside assignment in the Marines will be with us tonight.  He's leaving for Afghanistan two weeks from now, so our gathering is bittersweet.  Our daughter, Lynelle, married into a wonderful military family and knows the pain of sending a loved one far away to guard and protect our freedom.  We will love every minute of being together tonight, but there will be unspoken emotions which will last many months until we welcome Kenny back home and into our loving, safe arms.  I wonder what Lynelle will write about this time?  

All we can do is LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE... and PRAY.  Yes.

Occasionally, while on a journey to the mall, or in the halls at church, or on a walk in our neighborhood, my daughter lets me push the baby buggy.  It's pure delight knowing what precious cargo rides inside.  (Hubby and I live only eight houses away from their house so I am frequently on buggy-duty!)
