BABY CARD SWAP...

While at Stampin' Up! Convention last week, I was in a BABY CARD SWAP.  Ten of those cards are displayed below.  I have put the name of the demonstrator under the card, and if she included a blog address on the back of her card, I have linked it for your blog-surfing enjoyment.

But first, I couldn't help myself... Talking about babies, I had to show you a picture of my youngest grandchild. (I have 12!)  This is Kassidy.  She's very kissable and likes to snuggle!

BAGS FULL OF SURPRISES...

As I prepare to leave the convention, I'm sending a box home via UPS (cool stuff), because I don't have room in my suitcase!  I have seen so many great new things... and received lots of new stamp sets... and enjoyed a little Stampin' Up! shopping.  Well, a lot of shopping!  I can't wait to get home and begin preparing new things to share with you!

THE JOY OF SWAPPING...

One of the things we do while at Convention, is swap cards and other projects.  Here's an example of how it works... Jane Doe shows up at Convention with 100 identical cards, made with current supplies and accessories.  Jane, and any random swapper, will exchange a card. Swapping continues until all cards are exchanged.  Jane will go home with 100 brand-new-different-cards!  This is called OPEN SWAPPING. Some people show up with 500 or more cards to swap!  I'm not kidding you!

There is also ORGANIZED SWAPPING.  Here's how that works...  In advance of attending Convention, people sign up for a specific swap with specific guidelines.  They know exactly how many cards (or projects) to make, with a certain theme, and also know the exact time and location to meet to do the swapping.

I've signed up for four organized swaps and thought you might like to see them...

FARMERS' MARKET...

For many years there has been a huge Farmers' Market across the river in Portland, Oregon.  A few years ago, my smaller town of Vancouver, Washington, opened a Farmers' Market too.  It has been very popular and grown leaps and bounds.  This weekend, there is a brand new Farmers' Market about a mile from where I live in the Salmon Creek area!  It made me think... Hummm... I should have a Stampin' Up! Farmers' Market!

So... Beginning in September, I'm offering a Farmers' Market on the last day of each month!  This is going to be really fun!  I've got some very interesting and unique things to display in my booth!  Watch, wait and see!

THERE'S A BIRTHDAY SOMEWHERE...

BIRTHDAY CARDS JUST MIGHT BE THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER CARDS ON THE WHOLE PLANET!  And sometimes you need one in a hurry!   I made this card with no fuss and no muss...  Just a punch here and a punch there...

Dots1

And a little bright paper adds another kind of punch...

Dots2

I just have to say this...  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Designer Series Paper!  Not just the paper I used for this card... I'm talking about the whole pack.  It's all good!  (I'm a paper connoisseur!)  And, while I'm on my soapbox, how about this stamp set!  Wowser!

Hummm... I've got to get busy and make a bunch of birthday cards!  With a family as big as mine, there's a birthday every week.  Reminds me of the country song, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere."  Yep!  There's a birthday somewhere!!
