ANTS AT A PICNIC...

ROYAL BLOG TOUR PROJECT 1 of 6 (Recap)

Ants at a Picnic

P1

HERE'S HOW

Watermelon

1) To make the watermelon, I cut three circles in graduated sizes with the Circle Scissor Plus, glued the pieces together, then sliced the watermelon in half.  The "bite" was made with a Scallop Circle Punch.  I used a Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw the seeds.

2) I cut the leftover piece of watermelon in half.  A great idea is to insert the extra watermelon chunks, along with the card, into the recipient's envelope.

3) The lunch box was made with the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die. The Grosgrain Ribbon handle was reinforced and stiffened on the back side, first with a layer of Sticky Strip, then with a layer of Real Red Card Stock. The Jumbo Eyelet was easy to position with the Crop-A-Dile.  Also note... To get the ants perfectly spaced, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  I purchased a yard of red and white gingham fabric and will share it with my local stampers when they make a Fancy Box of their own in a May workshop!  If you live nearby, you're invited to join us!

When I prepared the six projects for the Royal Blog Tour, I wondered if one would stand out above the others. But based on all your comments, they were equally popular!  I'm so glad you adored them. Tomorrow I'll show you seven additional photos of the Mini Card Kit.

FYI: I purchased the Bugs & Kisses Stamp Set about three years ago, but had NEVER used it until February!  (Scroll down and see my Dragonfly Card on 02/18/10.)  My local stampers just LOVED the little insects and convinced me to feature them in the Royal Blog Tour!

Summery fun.

I love it! My customers also love the set and we have made several cards using it at my workshops. TFS.

This is beautiful. I love how you made the watermelon.
