ROYAL BLOG TOUR MEMORIES...

The renowned 2010 Royal Blog Tour is over, but these remnants will stay posted here.  The Bugs & Kisses Stamp Set was bestowed to me for the tour, and now may be viewed (in detail) on posts dated May 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and 12 right here on Polka Dots and Paper.  Designing with bugs was both freaky and fun!  I loved working with the creepy, crawly little creatures...

COMPANY IS COMING...

I was thinking today about all the people doing last minute things to get ready for the Royal Blog Tour... In addition to over 80 people preparing their blogs for the annual gala affair, there are scores of staff individuals, like marketing advisors, editorial writers, graphic designers, computer techs, and so many others, working to make the event very unique and special. It reminded me of a card I made a few months ago, (you're invited), and how nice it is to have company.  We are so excited for Friday to come so we can welcome our guests!

A WELCOME WREATH...

My front porch is always filled with pots of flowers and baskets of blooms to match the season - and to welcome happy stampers.  Colors of spring and summer are abundant now.  Most of them are live, but a few are artificial like this wreath...

Wreath3

I experimented and stamped two lavender wreaths.

Which one do YOU like?

Wreath1

I prefer this one...

 Wreath2

These close-ups reveal the layers...

Wreath3

And the pierced holes add a little whimsey...

A PURSE WITH AN ATTITUDE...

I was sitting at the beauty salon on Saturday, looked up and saw a picture of a purse with a big buckle on the front, and instantaneously thought of how to use the Top Note Die and Hodgepodge Hardware together...

Purse1

The purse does not open at the buckle, but rather like a standard card as shown in the picture above.

Purse2

I always look here and there for realistic things that give me ideas for card making.  Tomorrow I'll show you the spring wreath on my front porch - and a card that sort of matches it.

Supplies & Accessories:  Stamp Set #111634 Fresh Cuts; Stamp Pad #100908 Chocolate Chip; Textured Card Stock #108693 Very Vanilla; Patterns Designer Series Paper #112164 Chocolate Chip; Embellishment #112454 Hodgepodge Hardware Styled Vanilla; Ribbon #111849 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Chocolate Chip; Punches #107304 Small Oval, #107305 Large Oval, #109047 3/16" Corner Rounder; Big Shot Die Cut Machine #113463 Top Note Bigz Die; Adhesives #104294 Sticky Strip, #104430 Stampin' Dimensionals.

SUMMER BEFORE YOU KNOW IT...

The brand new Square Lattice Impressions Embossing Folder reminded me of an ice cream cone, which reminded me of the Sweet Scoops Stamp Set - and they all reminded me of each other, so I made this card...

Ice Cream1

Pop a rhinestone out of a brad and set in place with a Mini Glue Dot...

Ice Cream2

Summer and the new Summer Mini is almost here!  It's all so yummy!

ROYAL BLOG TOUR GAME #2

Game2

www.royalblogtour.blogspot.com

The much anticipated 2010 Royal Blog Tour begins just two weeks from today!  Even though I'm one of the presenters, I have not seen any projects, other than my own.  So, like you, I'm very excited to climb on a carriage and travel from one site to another to view what each princess has created with her designated stamp set of choice.

Visit 65 Blogs
See Wonderful Projects
Gather Lots of Blog Candy

This year's theme is The Promise of Spring.  The stamp set I'm using is Bugs & Kisses and I can't wait to show you what I've made!

But while we're waiting for the tour to begin, I'll be sharing cards (and ???) with brand new products out of the Summer Mini Catalog.  I'd love to have you drop in next week to take a look.
